TCLC Talk Series: A Study on the Classification of Household Income and Gradual Removal of Subsidies
The Tun Tan Cheng Lock Centre for Social and Policy Studies (TCLC) hosted a talk entitled ‘TCLC Talk Series: A Study on the Classification of Household Income and Gradual Removal of Subsidies’ as part of the TCLC Talk Series on December 13, 2024. The talk, delivered by Dr. Chin Yee Mun, was held at UTAR Sungai Long Campus, room KB003.

Four attendees participated in the talk, during which Dr. Chin presented his research findings from a poll survey on Malaysia's household income classification and the gradual removal of subsidies. According to Dr. Chin, most respondents disagreed with the gradual removal of subsidies for the T15 group and did not believe the policy would benefit Malaysia's economy. Dr. Chin currently serves as the Chairperson of the Tun Tan Cheng Lock Centre for Social and Policy Studies (TCLC) and is an Associate Professor in the Department of General Studies under the Faculty of Creative Industries (FCI) at UTAR.
